What style of shed to choose and why

There are three primary styles of garden building and the differences are fundamentally the roof style.

The Apex Shed or summerhouse is a classic pitch roof with a ridge running front to back and two sides down to the eaves. The construction can be different but the style is always the same.

A Pent shed style has an almost flat roof normally higher at the front sloping to the back. However we can pitch the slope from back to front or side to side with the door on the end elevation. This is very useful if the building is against a wall or building.

Finally the Hip-ex which is a cross between an Apex shed and Pent shed. The apex angle is offset so one side is longer than the other. This forms a lofty entrance to the building. The doors and windows are usually but not necessarily on the side elevation, this give symmetry to the building and is very pretty.

While these are the main differences we at Kedleston garden buildings can help you design your building with the doors and windows in pretty much any position, with loads of options and upgrades on windows, cladding, doors, floors and felt etc. We can even select a window style from a different building in the collection, really adding that personal touch or making the build exactly how you need it.

In my experience when I visit to carry out a survey, the garden and the space will normally dictate the best style to select, its always a good idea to get a free visit to bounce ideas off someone else, I also understand how all the building options work and so can offer advice and ideas that you may not have imagined possible.

Remember we have a great show site with all the styles available but also why not take advantage of our no obligation site visit.
